have long been fascinated by how I might be able to push the envelope of variable fonts and for over a year have been working on 100MM Grotesque. So what is Different about it? What’s so new?
100MM has 4 variable axes. one controls width, on controls how square or the “speed” of the curves then the other two are where things get real spicy instead of a weight axis I split it up into a X-weight and a Y-weight so you can dial in the stroke weights independently creating a huge variety of different type styles within the world of 100MM grotesque.
Keep it traditional or go wild pulling the stoke contrast way apart for a reverse contrast or a more humanist feel. keep your curves round or more square for a tech feel, be thin and delicate or big bold and wide. its all possible with this one typeface.
